The awards we have been shortlisted for recognise our innovative engineering in pipeline inspection, cleaning and maintenance along with our collaboration with supply chain partners to deliver efficient and resilient services for utility clients. Our entries have beaten off stiff competition to be shortlisted, which is a testament to the innovative way our in-house technical design and project teams have approached the project. 

Avove partnered with iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ to design and manufacture bespoke air-pigs and camera-pigs to inspect, clean, monitor and maintain water pipelines. This innovative method of cleaning incorporated video inspection technology, which validated the pipeline’s cleanliness and uses air rather than water. 

This is the first time, globally, that air-pigging and camera air-pig analysis have been used at this size and scale. The ground-breaking technology can clean and inspect long sections of up to 6km at a time, clean pipelines to the highest standard of water compliance, and return the trunk mains into service with ease. This project also delivers huge reductions in CO2, time, cost, excavations, haul roads and water used.
