Overview

We provide a wide range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure design and construction services that cover the whole spectrum of engineering requirements.

We offer design only and design and build services for water and sewerage networks and water and wastewater treatments. This is supported by our in-house commissioning team who bring increasingly complex new and refurbished infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets online in a controlled and systematic way and can also provide turnkey project delivery.

Our approach

Our design and build approach with our clients continues to evolve and has strengthened over the years as we have become increasingly familiar with their objectives, requirements and ways of working.

We have developed a partnership ethos based on transparency, trust, flexibility, and shared targets that are outcome-driven and meet the changing needs of clients and the sector. Working within the regulated UK water sector requires us to work both for and alongside UK water companies with a statutory duty to provide high service levels to their customers.

We deliver work holistically, adopting a concept to commissioning methodology, and have the capability to deliver projects of great technical complexity by leveraging a broad range of services, capabilities and experience. We work closely with our clients to help protect and improve their assets, enhance their customers’ experiences and protect the natural environment.

Capabilities

Our design team includes over 85 water design experts across the UK either operating directly out of Avove’s offices or co-located with our clients’ operational teams as the needs of individual projects or water industry frameworks demand.

Our point of engagement for design varies from framework to framework and ranges from adopting the outline design undertaken by others and developing the detailed design for construction to front-end involvement requiring us to investigate high-level business risks from either a design or ECI perspective.

We provide a wide range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure construction services. This ranges from requisitions and diversions work, mains rehab, strategic trunk mains and large booster pumping stations for water infrastructure projects to outfalls, large diameter storage, Combined Sewer Overflows (powered and static), pipe bridges, pumping stations, rising mains and sewer rehab in wastewater infrastructure projects. We also provide water and wastewater treatment works process improvements and refurbishments based on changing flow or quality requirements.
