Avove colleagues volunteer for FACT cancer charity
Nine Avove colleagues recently volunteered for North-East-based charity “FACT” – Fighting All Cancers Together. FACT are a local charity providing support to cancer sufferers and survivors. They create a friendly and safe environment to discuss problems, no matter how big or small.
FACT have acquired new premises in Wrekenton, Gateshead, where they are converting an old pub into a new hub for the community. A team of nine Avove colleagues volunteered to kickstart the renovations of the building, including the removal of internal walls and ceilings and tidying decorative flowerbeds in the gardens.
The team thoroughly enjoyed the day with the FACT team and felt a sense of satisfaction in what they had achieved.

FACT offer a range of non-clinical services for people diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families, friends and carers. If you are a family member or friend, the person with the cancer diagnosis that is affecting you does not necessarily need to be accessing FACT’s services for you to benefit.
FACT also offer specific support for children and young people.
