Bradshaw Primary School Community Project

Bradshaw Primary School, in Halifax, approached us to support them with their new adventure play area. It needed updating and the school were keen to introduce ‘crawl through’ pipes for the pupils to use.

Our colleagues were extremely happy to help the school and as part of our volunteering scheme, members of the Yorkshire team leapt at the chance to support the children. Our highly skilled volunteers met with Deputy Headmistress, Julia Baker to agree on a plan of action so we could donate the pipes and begin the renovation.

We agreed with the school that our team would undertake the project during the summer holidays, due to:

  • Weather conditions effecting the school field
  • SAT examinations

A pre-site meeting was held with the school and a plan of action was agreed so that work could commence creating the addition to the play area in July.

The Avove team carried out the work over three days which included the pipe installation and reinstatement of the ground, which has increased the overall size of the play area giving the students a lot more space to enjoy.

The children will be over the moon. We would like to invite you all back in September so you can see the children enjoying it and for them to thank you personally.”

Deputy Head Mistress, Julia Baker

Thank you Avove for all the help with this project, the children will love this, so from all the children of Bradshaw Primary School I say a heartfelt thanks.”

We strive to deliver long-term social value in the communities we serve. We also offer our colleagues volunteering days so as an organisation we can be a force for good in society.
