Supporting a local foodbank

Members of our Finance Team dedicated their volunteering day to supporting the vital work of Accrington Community Foodbank. Shahima Begum from the Finance Admin Team organised the event through our volunteering platform, Neighbourly, providing an opportunity to assist individuals and families in need.

Shahima was joined by colleagues Rosanna Benson, Rebecca Smalley, Chloe Rimmer, and Hafsha Begum. Together, they spent the day sorting, organising and distributing food supplies while gaining a deeper understanding of the foodbank’s operations and the essential role foodbanks play in offering a safety net for the community during challenging times.

An inspiring day

Reflecting on the experience, Shahima said: “We’ve come away with a much deeper insight into how food banks are run and the struggles people face. It’s inspired us to do more to support our local communities.”

Paul Gabriel, the foodbank’s Treasurer, expressed his gratitude: “Your enthusiasm and willingness to help made a huge difference. You took a significant weight off our volunteers and enabled us to better serve the community.”

Our Commitment to Community Giving

We’re dedicated to making a positive impact in our local communities through our innovative approach to project delivery, ensuring efficient water and power supply across the UK, and our volunteering days to support local charities and organisations.
