Running a half marathon for the Brain Tumour Charity
Overview
Customer Service Agent, Gary Trotter, completed a half marathon in 2022 to raise money in aid of The Brian Cross Memorial Trust. The charity funds vital research projects alongside The Brain Tumour Charity to find a cure for this devastating disease.
Gary is passionate about this cause as he has been affected personally by the disease and has set himself a challenge – to raise as much money as possible to help The Brian Cross Memorial Trust fund further research to help tackle this disease which is close to Gary’s heart.
At Avove, we are proud to support our colleagues with their fundraising. Gary raised more than £2,000, which included a match funding donation from Avove.
“After seeing people so important in my life being affected by a brain tumour, I wanted to be able to give back and do my bit to help. I want to try to raise awareness and money for research into this illness. Taking on the challenge to run a half-marathon is a journey I feel compelled to do. This gives me the motivation to try and give something back to help as best I can to prevent other families from going through the same thing.”
