United Utilities Capital Team Sow Seeds of Change
Our United Utilities Capital Team lends a hand at Let’s Grow, Preston
As a company, we love giving back to the communities in which we work and live. One of the ways we do this is through volunteering to support great causes that protect the environment, increase social mobility and promote mental health and wellbeing. Find out how our United Utilities Capital Team spent their volunteer day.

Growing communities
Our United Utilities Capital Team joined forces with Let’s Grow, Preston, a charity that helps local communities brighten up their areas and green spaces through gardening to improve wellbeing. The team rolled up their sleeves to build metal racking shelves, replant flower beds and weed large vegetable patches in preparation for growing potatoes.

A great day had by all
Programme Manager, Nisha Patel, organised the event and her colleagues, Darren Johns, Andrew Caunce, Faith Caunce, Harry Kaye, David Fleming, Mark Atkinson, and Louise Clarke, pitched in too.
“It is great that Nisha found the time in her busy schedule to commit to organising this event for a worthy local cause. It was a great day doing something good for our mental health and also giving to a local community’s good cause.”
Harry Kaye | UU Capital Team Estimator
“The team were really enthusiastic and got through so much work. We are always so busy this time of year, so to get so many beds prepared and to get the big job of spud planting all done in one day was amazing!”
