Winners of the Technical Excellence award at ICE North East awards

We are delighted to announce that, as part of Northumbrian Water Group’s carbon partnership, we have been awarded the Technical Excellence award from the Institution of Civil Engineers, North East

The Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) Capital Carbon Steering Group, which is contributing to NWG’s Capital Carbon Five Point Plan, won the Technical Excellence award at the ICE North East Awards!
Our collaborative initiative, alongside Stantec, Esh, MMB, Jacobs, and Galliford Try, focused on “Driving Down Carbon through Collaboration” and reflects our commitment to civil engineering innovation and sustainability. This recognition highlights the collective efforts of all involved in delivering low-carbon solutions for the built environment.
Winning this prestigious award is a proud moment for the partnership and our teams. It showcases the creativity, dedication, and hard work of our multidisciplinary team. Together, we are making strides in decarbonisation and setting new industry benchmarks.
Technical Excellence was a new category for 2025, and it aims to recognise teams that demonstrate excellence in the decarbonisation of civil engineering and the infrastructure sector.
This is a remarkable and bold strategy demonstrating exemplary collaboration between the client and suppliers. It highlights the shared responsibility and commitment all parties have shown in pursuing mutual and long-term goals aimed at decarbonisation.
“This approach – delivered by Avove, Stantec, Esh, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), Jacobs and Galliford Try for Northumbrian Water Group – shows the value of fostering enduring partnerships for sustainability.”

We’d like to thank our colleagues who continue to contribute to the successful delivery of this collaborative project. We have been part of this Framework for just over 12 months, and it is a testament to the steps we are taking as part of the Living Water Enterprise Group to drive down carbon through innovative initiatives.”
