Mordna Esho

Position: Design Technician

Mordna graduated from university with a degree in product design. He worked in corporate roles and enjoyed being able to come up with solutions through his designs, skills and knowledge. This is how his career in design engineering started.

What does a Design Technician do?

My role is all about designing projects for our teams to work on, and for our clients at Severn Trent. For any issues that are identified, I come up with solutions through design and planning. This means I gather information, highlight any potential hazards and then design a drawing using CAD software (AutoCad) to manage the project and recommend sustainable solutions.

I liaise with our clients on a regular basis, working to their specifications, gathering information online relating to specific projects and producing detailed design drawings using engineering principles.

It’s a very fast-paced environment and we can be working on complex projects with short deadlines –  but we work together as a team to overcome any challenges.
